Many Cobweb players have already had the pleasure of being conducted by Roland, who leads the Tebay group. Here is a chance to join him for a workshop exploring some of his compositions and arrangements.
Saturday 9 November 2019, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Stainton Village Hall,
Stainton,
Penrith,
Cumbria.
CA11 0EP.
Cost: £12.50 for Cobweb members / £17
Here are a few words by Roland about the event:
“In countless situations I have relished the challenge of composing and arranging music for ensembles with varying instrumental combinations and degrees of playing ability. My “Earth Dwellers” has, consequently, been performed in several versions; perhaps we will have time to do all five movements and experience the organic flow. I always seek to write music that is life-enhancing for the listener and the player; clever but not impenetrable; you can judge for yourselves! Grieg’s Peer Gynt and Elegiac Melodies need no introduction – gorgeous music, even with a few minor adaptations, where essential, by Fudge.”
