A Day of Concertos
Sunday 22nd May, 11-5pm, Haxby Memorial Hall

There’s a brilliant orchestra already attending this at the weekend, but please don’t hesitate to sign up if you’re still thinking about it (particularly violas!)

A Day at the Ballet
Saturday 28th May, 1.30 – 7pm

We’re absolutely delighted that Patrick Burnett will be conducting this day as sadly Peter Crompton is now working abroad and is unavailable. It’s going to be a brilliant day, looking at works by Tchaikovsky, Delibes, Adam and more…

Brahms Double in Concert with Nick Byrne and Iona Brown
Sunday 5th June, Rehearsal 1.30-5.30pm, Concert 6.30pm

Join Royal Northern Sinfonia players Nick Byrne and Iona Brown in a performance of the Brahms Double concerto for Cello and Violin, following on from the recent study day. We will be looking to have a balanced orchestra for this event so do get your enrolment forms in fast!

Join Judith Thompson for an afternoon rehearsing some accessible orchestral works followed by a concert. The programme will include a couple of Beethoven Overtures, Haydn’s London Symphony, Smetana The Moldau, some Bond themes and maybe more…

We’re just gathering interest for the Wylam Non-Residential so we can see who is up for it and what kind of music we might play.

Gosh, that was a lot and it takes us right up to the Summer holidays! I hope the day goes well on Sunday, good luck to all you brave soloists, I look forward to seeing good pictures. I’ll be taking part in Choir of the Year so I shall share your nerves!
