Cobweb News 19 – 2013

Dear All,
Just a few reminders this week, but first an update on Helen Pyburn.
Andy and I were able to go and see Helen on Saturday after having met up with Mark, (Helen’s husband), to discuss arrangements for the reception after the funeral service. Helen refers to the reception as her “last big gig”. We were able to chat and laugh with Helen for about 10 minutes, which was lovely.
We’re hoping to play many of Helen’s compositions at her “last big gig”. In order to be prepared we will be looking at some of Helen’s pieces this Thursday, 23rd May, 7.15pm at Consett and the following Wednesday, 29th May, 1pm at The Sage, Gateshead. Please do come and join us if you would like to.
Coming up . . .
Saturday 25th May – Family Teatime Concert
Rehearsal 1.00 – 3.30pm, Concert 4.00 – 5.00pm

We need a few more players to join our small but almost perfectly formed orchestra. We could certainly do with a viola and a cello. Please do email me if you are able to come and play in this fun event.
Saturday 1st June – Schumann Symphony No. 2 Study Day
11.00am – 4.00pm
Haxby Memorial Hall, York

Don’t forget to enrol for this super day with Chris Griffiths. And there’s also the fund-raising lunch to be had.
The Cobweb Prom Season
Information about our 4 prom concerts can be found on the website along with the enrolment form.
Don’t forget there is a special offer on, if you can do 3 or all 4 concerts.
That’s all for now,
