Cobweb News 20: 07.07.14

Dear all,
I hope you’ve had a lovely week!
The Cobweb Chamber Orchestra enjoyed their residential last weekend, and topped it off with a fantastic concert in the beautiful Ushaw College. See photo below to see how nice it really was! An audience member said that she’d “often paid £30 or more for concerts she hasn’t enjoyed quite as much!”
Cobweb Orchestra at Ushaw College
Sunday 13th July
Study Day: Rachmaninov Symphony No. 2 with Peter Wood
Time 11-4.30pm.
Wylam Institute, Church Rd, Wylam, Northumberland, NE41 8AP
£10 – Members
£13 – Non members
Peter Wood leads us through this epic and ever-popular symphony written in early 20th Century. We’d love a full orchestra for this one, as it is such a big work, so will welcome anyone and everyone who’s up for the challenge! As part of the day we will enjoy a shared lunch.
We have a lovely sized orchestra shaping up for this one – we just need some people willing to play Violin 1! And where are all you cellists? We really would encourage any more players who are thinking about it to sign up so we have a lovely balanced sound!
It’s also worth me pointing out that we still have opportunities for Trumpet, Bass Clarinet, Cor Anglais and Timpani – let me know if you’d like to come along and play these parts.

**DIY Residential**
Finally, this is just a heads up about the Ridley Hall residential on 29th – 30th November. We’re asking people as usual for a £30 deposit to secure your place. It’s going to be lovely residential and we’re welcoming all for now. We need to know that we have enough people for the accomodation.
Please secure your place by paying the £30 deposit and either sending me a cheque or by BACS to the usual account. Please let me know what reference you have used when you’ve done it.
That’s all for this week,
