A message from The Library Team

Tuesday 19 July 2016
101 music sets completed.
When I started to work with Liz Carlile at her house in the music library one of the first things she said was “people cannot play if they don’t have the correct music”. The music library is an essential and valuable part of the Cobweb Orchestra. As such it has to be checked and maintained after it is returned to the library.
Since January 2016 Liz Carlile, Ruth Tanner, Graham Jarritt and Barbara Griffin have been working regularly in the music library for the Cobweb Orchestra. After painstakingly checking each music folder; sorting, photocopying missing parts, retrieving stray parts from incorrect sets, filing stray parts, sticking parts together and re-filing each music set in new folders the team have completed 101 sets. This is about a quarter of the total number of sets. Still lots more to do but 101 sets feels like progress.
The Library Team

That’s all for now, do keep sending your enrolments for Wylam or letting me know you’ll be with us on the 13th August.
Best wishes,
Event Co-ordinator, Cobweb Orchestra
