The Honister Slate Mine has been nominated for a Cumbria Culture Life Award!
Dear all,
I hope you’re all having a nice Bonfire Night and are safely back after your half term breaks. As you can see from above we’ve been nominated for a Cumbria Culture Life Award – we’ll find out on 12 November if we’ve won!
Congratulations to Steve Messam who did the lighting for that project who has also been nominated in his category. Good Luck!
We only have two events left of 2015 so please do join in and sign up!
Saturday 21st November
Sage Gateshead, 1.30-7pm
Everyone Can Play Mozart: Study Day with Andy Jackson

http://www.cobweborchestra.org.uk/events/event.php?id=250
There’s still space for all instruments on this study day, open to all abilities! It’s a great opportunity to play some accessible music and perform to family and friends at the end of the day.
As part of the day we’ll be looking at the famous Magic Flute overture as well as the fabulous Clarinet Concerto with soloist Tracy Reed.
Please let me know if you are intending to come and be a part of this day as we need to know which music to bring. To sign up however, you must go to Sage Gateshead Box Office, or telephone them on 0191 443 4661 or book via the website here: http://www.sagegateshead.com/event/cobweb-orchestra36942/
Sunday 6th December
Sage Gateshead, rehearsal 2-6pm, concert 7.15pm
Cobweb Orchestra in Concert

http://www.cobweborchestra.org.uk/events/event.php?id=252
There’s very limited spaces left for this concert, all woodwind is now full but we are accepting more strings and brass. The enrolment form is on the event webpage. If you didn’t manage to get a place or you’re interested, why not come and support us? You can buy tickets for the concert here: http://www.sagegateshead.com/event/the-cobweb-orchestra38834/
Finally, a message from Ben Chinery, his letter is attached here:
Hello Cobwebs,
On 4th October a letter was sent out on the bottom of the newsletter for brass players to express their interest in workshops and ensembles. We have had a good interest already and are offering another chance for anyone who hasn’t already contacted me to get in touch. The letter is once again available so please have a read and get in touch if you are interested.

That’s all this week, I hope to see many of you at the study day on the 21st November at Sage Gateshead.
Best wishes,
Lorna
