Cobweb News 27: 22.10.14

Dear all,
I hope you’ve all had a good week. A big congratulations to those of you who took park in the Rachmaninov Symphonic Dances study day on Sunday with Mark Edwards, I thought everyone did fantastically and worked hard to master a very challenging work! A huge thanks goes to Mark for guiding us through it, he did a great job and the ”performance” was very respectful! Special thanks go also to Sue and Jim Hoggett for helping to book the hall.
A key was found in the left-hand corner (as you look from the door) of the car park:
Silver Union Mortice Lock key code M194M.
Tony Chapman found it and has it, and can post it to anyone who may have lost it! He can be contacted on 01423 886755 or by email on tonychapman@yahoo.co.uk

Members of the Cobweb Orchestra £ 10.00
Non-members £ 13.00
Join us for an exciting afternoon rehearsal of Beethoven Symphony No. 1 with conductor Jonathan Bloxham. We haven’t been advertising this event for long and it might not have crossed your radar yet, but I know how many of you enjoyed working with Joanathan last year playing the Sibelius Violin Concerto and Elgar’s Symphony no. 1, and it would be great if we could produce an appropriately sized and shaped orchestra for Beethoven’s innovative 1st symphony.
Even if you can’t make the rehearsal, do consider going to the informal (and FREE) concert in the evening and having the chance of hearing him play Bach’s sublime 1st cello suite as well as conducting the Beethoven. Enrolment form and poster are available on the event webpage. Please distribute the poster as much as you can! Don’t forget a music stand!
**Underground Orchestra**
Best of luck to all those performing in the Underground Orchestra concert today at Victoria Tunnel. Keep an eye and an ear out for TV and radio coverage of Cobweb’s latest project “The Underground Orchestra” as BBC are sending a film crew and a reporter to the rehearsal and the performance. For those of you who are not playing or able to go and watch, below is a sneaky peek of what it looks like:

They also had a fabulous article written in the Journal at the weekend:
