http://www.cobweborchestra.org.uk/events/event.php?id=216
Even though I’m sure many of you are looking forward to playing in this glorious piece, very few of you have actually let me know that you intend coming!
We really would like to see a full orchestra for this day as it is such a large scale work. Do consider coming along and enjoying tackling this music.
Please drop me a line even though you may have already enrolled at Sage Gateshead Box Office. We need to know so that we bring the right music for this event, it’s going to be a fabulous study day challenging an epic work – don’t miss it!
Do you know people who are singers who might like to join us for the day? You can book on here: http://www.sagegateshead.com/event/cobweb-orchestra33082/
**DIY Residential, Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th November**
http://www.cobweborchestra.org.uk/events/event.php?id=227
A note from our Residentials Administrator, Anita:
It’s only a few weeks until the annual Cobweb Orchestra visit to Ridley Hall. All rooms are now booked up but if you would still like to come along there is space for you to come each day. For newer members of the orchestra, or those of you who have never been before, this can give you a chance to come for just one or both days to see what the DIY residential is all about.
One of the main features of this weekend is that people bring along chamber music and get together in groups to play a huge variety of material. In the more formal sessions, we will be playing music by Wagner, Respighi, Haydn and Elgar.

Concert dress is the usual concert attire, white top, black bottoms and waistcoats, but please think extra warm clothing for this one!
Food will be bring your own or from the cafe there as there isn’t an awful lot of time.
The rehearsal will be between 10am -12 pm. Then we will have two 40 minute performances at 12.30 and again at 1.30 pm.
Please don’t forget to bring a music stand and some pegs to attach your music to the stand!
