Cobweb News 32: 19.12.14

Dear all,
Well done to those of you who played at Alnwick Gardens a few weekends ago, it was a bitterly cold performance but one we can be proud of. Special thanks to the choir, and to the gardens for giving us free warm soup!
Well done also to the Cobweb Chamber Orchestra who had their concert last Sunday, congratulations to the soloists Chrissie and Mary, all performed extremely well.
**A message from Anita about Residential Weekends**
Thank you to all the people who came to our annual Ridley Hall residential over the weekend. We got through a huge amount of music in the two days with orchestral sessions and chamber groups throughout the time. Mary Hitch did a wonderful job of taking us through Carmina Burana on Saturday evening and our midnight symphony – well I’m sure Beethoven would never have heard a version of his sixth symphony quite like ours!!
The hall has been booked for the same time next year, last weekend in November (28/29th) so pop that in your diaries, but before then we have the annual Sedburgh residential (10-12 April 2015) for which deposit forms will be coming out early in January.
If you have any questions about the residential weekends, just drop me a line (anitaarris@yahoo.co.uk)
Best wishes,
Anita (Residential Administrator)

**Cobweb Auction**
Finally, you’ve been sent a separate message about the Cobweb Auction, please do contact Elizabeth if you have anything to contribute to the auction, she’d love to hear from you. She can be contacted on eabeer@sky.com if you have any queries.
This is the last CN for this year, but I’ll be sending information about our packed 2015 programme over the next few days, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Best wishes,
Lorna
