Cobweb Orchestra Musical Book Club
Thursday 1st October. 6.00 pm
Cost:  £4/5 (members/non-members)

After the successes of playing along to recordings last week, you asked for a) slower and b) Romantic so this week we’re going to be looking at Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5, Movement no. 2 Andante cantabile.

The parts have Bb versions for clarinet and trumpet and we’ll be playing along to Furtwangler conducting on You Tube.

The link below will take you to where you need to download your part / score, but do get in touch if you need a hand.

We will meet on Zoom, which works on all computers, tablets and smart phones. You don’t need to have any special programmes or apps on your device to make it work, you just follow a link which will be sent to you from Lorna before the meeting.

We will be continuing to invite players to stay on the Zoom call longer to join a ‘breakout room’ to allow a chance for members to catch up with one another. Please let me know in advance if there’s particular people you’d like to catch up with and I’ll match you together! Andy is likely to use this feature throughout the session to link up similar instruments or passages of music.

A message from The Finance Team
Some people have reported an issue when transferring money to the Cobwebs Accounts, where their bank has not been able to confirm the Cobweb account details; the payment is flagged as “Payee Not Recognised” or “Payee Account not supported” or “Unable to check the name you entered” or something similar.

This is because the receiving bank is Co-op Bank, and they have not yet implemented the “Confirmation of Payee” feature for the Cobwebs Accounts. This feature is widely used by banks to protect against fraud by checking that the account name is associated with the account details you have entered. But if the receiving bank has not set the system up, the warning message is given even when all the details are correct.
Be assured that as long as you have entered the sort code and account number correctlyyour money will still reach the Cobwebs Account.

Our banking details remain unchanged; please refer to the relevant information provided when making a payment for
membership, an event or a donation.
