Cobweb News

Now that we are beginning to come out of lockdown, some of the local groups will be starting up again in the next few weeks. If you haven’t heard from them already, group secretaries will soon be in touch to decide on the best way forward for your group. We hope that by September, we will be back to regular weekly activity across the whole region.

This week’s Cobweb News:
TRIPLE FFF: The Music of Farrenc, Franck, and Fauré
A discussion with Joe Davies

Thursday 27th May, 7pm
On Zoom, £4/5

Back by popular demand, Joe is bringing an exciting and intriguing discussion on French music on the 27th May. You won’t need your instruments for this one, just enjoy the music! This is what Joe says:

A triple French spectacular as we listen to the glorious music of Louise Farrenc (1804-1875), César Franck (1822-1890), and Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924). Why are French composers such good orchestrators? Why does French music go so quickly in and out of fashion? And what makes French music sound so… French?
