Haydn Symphonies Project
Saturday 28th August
Cost: £12/15
To enrol – please click here

We have now looked at 79 symphonies and will be resuming our journey in 1782.  The symphonies I hope to look at are 76, 77,78,79,80 & 81.  All of these symphonies have parts for strings, flute, oboes, bassoons, and horns.   Clarinets are welcome to join us and oboe parts transposed for Bb clarinets will be available. The preparation of parts for this project is time consuming and it would be appreciated if you could enrol as soon as possible so that I know how many parts I need to prepare. This also allows time to fill any holes we may have in the orchestra.

September Events

On the 18th September, 11-4pm, we’re delighted to finally return to York for an event with Patrick Burnett. This event was scheduled for March 2020, so we’re pleased it can now happen! More information including the repertoire will be available at the next Cobweb News but this for now is a date for your diary.

On the 26th September, 2-5pm, at Dipton Jubilee Centre, Andy will lead a ‘Music by Heart’ event. Developed during lockdown, a group have been learning Mozart Symphony No. 40 from memory, and you’re all invited to join. Play along, or test yourself to memorise as much as you can. Again, enrolment will open at the end of the month.
