Cobweb News 9 – 07.04.14

Dear All,
We had a splendid time in Sedbergh (despite the typical Cumbrian weather) for our annual residential. 48 players stayed at the school and another 17 dipped in and out throughout the weekend. Andy Jackson and Stephen Reay were our fantastic resident conductors; they were wonderful at guiding us through Mahler Symphony No. 5 and other works that the majority of us had not played before. All in all it was a great weekend – great music, company, food and drink. What more could one ask for . . .
Important information . . .
As many of you know I have resigned from being the Events Manager in order to do some travelling. For the next 3 months the person taking over my role is Lorna Wright. From now on please could you send all enrolment forms to:
Lorna Wright
146 Ellesmere Road
Newcastle upon Tyne

Even though it has my address on the enrolment form for the BIG PLAY, please send your form to Lorna. Any forms just posted will be forwarded to her, so there is no need to panic if you’ve recently sent your form in.
You can still send emails to events@cobweborchestra.org.uk and Lorna will now reply to these.

Finally . . .
This is my final Cobweb News as I pack my panniers. I have loved every minute of my time working for The Cobweb Orchestra – what an amazing organisation it is. I’ve made so many friends and never has a week gone by without some lovely emails from you. I know that I’m leaving my job in the very capable hands of Lorna while the trustees appoint a new Events Manager. Please continue to support the organisation. I look forward to catching up with lots of you on my return and playing my horn at rehearsals and events.
Farewell for a while,
Sue
