Cobweb News – Summer Edition 2014

Dear all,
I hope you’re having a lovely summer! This news is just to give you an overview of what we’ve been up to so far this summer and what’s to come. Be sure to look at the website to get an idea of events you’d like to take part in in the Autumn term and I’ll be in touch again early September with new enrolment forms.
Spain trip
The Cobweb Orchestra enjoyed a trip to Spain at the end of July. The weather was extremely hot, but they overcame it to show themselves fantastically and proved to be a big success!
Below are great pictures of all three concerts:
Beginners Day – 2nd August
We had a lovely afternoon at Sage Gateshead earlier this month welcoming some very new players to orchestral playing. There was a wide variety of people there but I think everyone took something from the day. Thanks to those ‘expert’ Cobwebs who helped out on the day, the sense of sharing was fantastic and exactly what we are about.
Brinkburn Priory – 24th August:
There are still spaces for players for this lovely mid-summer event, so why not break up your holidays and join us! I know a few of you were thinking about it, so please do let me know by email if you are intending on coming so we can plan the music and have the right parts on the day.
A few of you have asked me about repertoire: there isn’t a complete list as Andy will decide this, but we will certainly be doing favourites such as Warlock’s Capriol Suite, Eine Kleine Nacht Music and an Arne Symphony.
Finally, please do check the website for events and term dates for your regular Cobweb group as it should now be all up to date. Don’t forget to secure your place for the Ridley Hall DIY Residential and pay your £30 deposit as soon as possible!
Enjoy the last few weeks of holiday!
