Lorna Wright
Brass specialist Ben Chinery and conductor Andy Jackson
This is a day of three parts. In the morning, brass players (including horns) will work with Ben on ensemble technique and orchestral repertoire which particularly features brass instruments.
In the afternoon, strings and wind join in, rehearsing a programme which highlights the brass section. Music will include the “March to Scaffold” from Berlioz’s “Symphonie Fantastique”, Schostakovich’s “A Festive Overture” and Ben’s own arrangement of Handel’s “Zadok the Priest”.
In the evening, there will be an informal performance of the music which has been studied through the day. Friends, relatives and other interested folk are invited to attend.
Costs for the workshops are between £6 and £17. Entry to the informal performance at 6.00 pm is FREE
