The 13th session of the Haydn Symphonies project will be held at Dipton Community Centre on Saturday 12 October 2019 from 11.30 am until 4.30 pm. with a shared lunch.  Please note the slightly later start and finish times for this event. We have now looked at 67 symphonies and in this session I am hoping to look at the following symphonies –  54, 61,71,53 (L’Imperiale),62 and 74.  In addition to the usual strings, oboes and horns Haydn is now also writing independent parts for Bassoons and Flutes in his symphonies so it would be great if some of our flute and bassoon players could now join us.   There are no no trumpets or timps in these symphonies (watch out for session 14 in January!)  As usual clarinets are welcome to join us and oboe parts transposed for Bb clarinets will be available.   The preparation of parts for this project is time consuming and it would be appreciated if you could enrol as soon as possible so that I know how many parts I need to prepare and to give me time to fill any holes we may have in the orchestra.  I look forward to seeing you all at Dipton.
