Musical Book Club

14th May 2020 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
£4 / 5
A group of Cobweb players will meet online to discuss a piece of music. It’s the same principle as the familiar concept of a book club, except twe’ll listen to and talk about a well-known composition from the orchestral repertoire. The discussion will be facilitated by Andy Jackson and Lorna Wright will take notes which will be distributed to participants after the event. Non-participants can sign up to receive the notes too.

For this first session, we’ll be looking at Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture . You can have a look at the score by clicking the link here and you can find a list of parts here in case you want to have a play along before the club.

Enrol: Straight away using the form here . Because of the difficulties of using Zoom for large groups, membership of the group will be limited to 25 people. However, unlike Cobweb events, where it is usually “strictly first come on a desk by desk basis”, there is no limit to the numbers of any one instrument that can enrol.
