Dipton

This is the longest established of the regional groups and players will attempt just about anything from the orchestral repertoire.

Less experienced players sit alongside old hands for a bit of friendly guidance.

Recent music has included Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Bizet, Brahms and Sibelius.

There’s a lovely view to enjoy at Dipton!

A grant has helped us to cover a project to represent the history of the South Medomsley Pit in music. A central part of the project was the commissioning of a new work by Andy Jackson which will be perfomed in Dipton. It is called ‘Absence’, and is dedicated to our double bass player Bernard Haston.
