The Cobweb Orchestra has been recognised for its innovative and inclusive services to the world of amateur music making:
- Music in the Community Award 2011, Gramophone Magazine
- EPIC Award 2011, Voluntary Arts England: Winner for Innovation and Runner-up for Creativity
Cobwebs won the Innovation award for our Undercover Orchestra, a ‘flash mob’ rendition of Ravel’s ‘Bolero’ at the NEXUS bus station in Haymarket, Newcastle. The film of the event was viewed more than 30,000 times in the first week alone!
