Cobweb News

We finally had some great weather for our annual Summerhill Picnic last weekend. We did really well, remembering how to battle playing with pegs and tricky page turns, with a lovely welcoming audience. Thanks to Andy and the library team for their hard work.

That’s it for our groups for this academic year, with end of term celebrations. Congratulations to the Cobweb Chamber Orchestra on a great performance yesterday evening.
We’re delighted to be opening enrolment for all of our Autumn events, which looks to be a really exciting term. The library team, Mark and our guests take a great care over providing the music for our events and so we’d really be grateful for early enrolments wherever you can. We hope that by giving you the dates so far in advance, we’ll be able to welcome more enrolments earlier. Before that, don’t forget we have 2 fantastic events in the Summer. BBC Weather is forecasting a pleasant afternoon for our picnic, so do join us! All the information you need is below.

A message from our Chair of Trustees

Hello Cobwebbers,

As the academic year draws to a close and our nine groups are winding down one by one for the summer holiday, I hope you have all had a great year and that The Cobweb Orchestra has offered you a large variety of musical experiences, whether in a group or at events or both.  The Cobweb Orchestra is a unique organisation compared to a lot of other amateur orchestras.  Not only do we offer open access with no auditions, we also offer so much more in the range of events and opportunities that you can delve in to, but these days all this comes at an ever-increasing cost that we need to address if the organisation is going to thrive and move forward.
