Our exciting Autumn Residential is returning and is fast approaching. We have a great new venue which is nestled in the Durham countryside near Consett, with chalet style accommodation and a large hall for rehearsing in. It will be the first time that Mark has been at the helm for the Autumn Residential, and I’m sure it will be as jam packed as ever with all the usual mix of music, cocktails and evening entertainment and possibly a midnight symphony. We have a nice little orchestra forming but really need more strings (especially cellos) as we have very few signed up so far.  A gentle reminder that deposits should be in by the end of this week. I look forward to seeing you there.
Best wishes, Anita

At last, the ever-popular autumn residential weekend returns at the beautiful retreat of Emmaus Village, near Riding Mill, Northumberland. The weekend will have

As always there is the Saturday night, after-dinner entertainment which, who knows what we will do, we’ve had dancing, singing and playing spoons and other instruments in past years.

Just in case you haven’t played enough during the day, we round Saturday night off (or get Sunday morning off to a grand start?) with the well-established ‘Symphony (or two) at Midnight’.

We end the weekend with a full orchestral session, revisiting and performing some of the works we’ve looked at over the weekend.

MUSIC will be the usual mix of mostly full orchestral sessions with some ensemble sessions. Music will be provided for all the orchestral sessions. Please bring your own chamber music if you wish to play between sessions.

ACCOMMODATION is in 3 beautiful chalets each taking 11 people in en-suite rooms. The rooms have more than one bed so couples can share. Costs remain the same regardless of room sharing or not.

DAY VISITORS who don’t wish to stay at Emmaus Village may attend as a day visitor. More information will be available in the following weeks. Please complete the Google Form ONLY if you intend on being a resident.

MEALS are provided by the centre and consist of lunch and dinner on Saturday, cooked breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Different diets can be catered for.

DRINKS AND SNACKS Emmaus Village has its own bar which is reasonably priced, and the centre specifically asks that you do not bring alcohol. Snacks are always very welcome for late Saturday night.
