Cobweb News – AGM and Autumn events

It was a fantastic event on Sunday at our AGM in Northallerton. Thanks to all of you for joining the event and having a great look at Scheherazade with Mark. Congratulations to Megs Rogers (clarinet) on joining the Trustees; it’s great to have her!  Ruth Tanner is retiring from the Trustees, having completed her 9 years. Amazingly she has been the Secretary for those 9 years. That is truly quite an achievement. We all owe a huge thanks to Ruth. Although she will no longer be a Trustee, she will remain as our Librarian, and we need to also thank her for the enormous amount of work she does in making sure groups and events have the music they need. Michael Cave has also resigned from the Trustees, and we’d like to thank him for all the sterling work he has done for The Cobweb Orchestra. He was Chair of the Trustees during Covid and the time we were having to appoint a new Artistic Director, two huge tasks that he handled with great diplomacy and skilful organisation.

As we gear up to a well-earned half term break, we encourage you to have a think about joining us for the rest of our Autumn programme.

Watch out for future news on the ‘Month Of…’ series in January to get in your diaries. The theme is ‘Dances’ – perfect to lift the January blues!
