Membership Changes

As from this week our groups slowly return for the term and events get underway once again. There is a change in membership rates that only applies to April renewals.

Membership (April renewals only)

As previously stated (08/07/24), the Trustees decided that the time had come for a raise in the membership fee and we wish to streamline renewals so that we only have one renewal date of 1st September each year.  In the last membership missive, we’d asked that all April 25 renewals top up their membership by £27/21(non-taxpayers).  This was worked out by taking the remaining credit of your £40/£25 membership away from the new fee of £50/£35.

After receiving a few emails and having some discussions, it was deemed that asking April renewals to top up their membership in September wasn’t necessarily fair and that they should be able to top up their membership in April which will then take them to September 25.  This means that April renewals receive a full year of membership at the old £40 rate and the top up will be 5/12ths of the new £50 rate ie £21/£15.

Some members have already topped up their membership at the higher rate and on behalf of the Trustees, I’d like to say a huge thank you, as the extra £6 will help our reserves and you are now on the correct renewal date and don’t have to renew your membership again until September 2025.  If you would have preferred to wait until April and top up at the slightly lower rate, please do get in touch with me sue.baker1160@gmail.com and I will arrange a refund.

So, all April renewals have a choice to make:

Top up this September by paying £27/£21 – this will put you on the correct renewal date and means that your next membership payment is not due until September 25.

OR

Top up in April 25 by paying £21/£15 and then renew your membership in September 25 at the going rate of £50/£35.

Hopefully this means that by September 25 everyone will be on the September renewal date.

Please do remember to renew/top up your membership by the end of October 24/May 25, to avoid paying the non-member rates at groups and events.

Wishing you all a term full of happy music making.
