‘Categories’ will display events that are specifically participation, performance, or residential.
We appreciate it if players sign up to events in advance to make sure we have enough space and music for everyone, but don’t worry when there isn’t an enrolment form, as they will be made available nearer to the event.
We have an excellent car-sharing scheme in place. If you need a lift to an event, or if you have space in your car and would be happy to share your journey with another Cobwebber, please indicate this on the enrolment form. Not only does this make travelling more enjoyable, it also reduces the cost of fuel and keeps cars off the road!
If you’d like to receive regular emails about our events, please sign up to our mailing list. You can also read our News.
Our policies, including all Covid safety information, can be found on our Policies and Forms page.
If you have any queries, please contact our events coordinator, Lorna Edwards: events@cobweborchestra.org.uk
10am Saturday 16th – 4pm Sunday 17th November
The ever-popular autumn residential weekend returns at the beautiful retreat of Emmaus Village, near Riding Mill, Northumberland. The weekend will have the usual mix of mostly full orchestral sessions with some ensemble sessions.
As always there is the Saturday night, after-dinner entertainment which, who knows what we will do, we’ve had dancing, singing and playing spoons and other instruments in past years.
Just in case you haven’t played enough during the day, we round Saturday night off (or get Sunday morning off to a grand start?) with the well-established ‘Symphony (or two) at Midnight’.
We end the weekend with a full orchestral session, revisiting and performing some of the works we’ve looked at over the weekend.
ACCOMMODATION . . .is in 3 beautiful chalets each taking 11 people in en-suite rooms. The rooms have more than one bed so couples can share. Costs remain the same regardless of room sharing or not.
MEALS . . . are provided by the centre and consist of lunch and dinner on Saturday, cooked breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Different diets can be catered for.
DAY VISITORS . . . if you don’t wish to stay at Emmaus Village you may attend as a day visitor. More information will be available in the following weeks. Please complete the Google Form ONLY if you intend on being a resident.
MUSIC will be provided for all the orchestral sessions. Please bring your own chamber music if you wish to play between sessions.
EXTRAS . . . Emmaus Village has its own bar which is reasonably priced, and the centre specifically
asks that you do not bring alcohol. Snacks are always very welcome for late Saturday night.
COST . . . £140 for the weekend (including all meals and accommodation).
See 2024 Autumn Residential – Emmaus Village2 for all the key information.
Emmaus would like to have final numbers by Monday 4th November, so if you would like to join us for some or all the weekend, please sign up here ASAP
